In the wake of the US election and the widespread use of fake news to create voter support we decided there needed to be a solution that could simplify the search for fact checked news. We came up with an idea that could revolutionise fact checking and not just that, if we work together we thought we could put pressure on news sites to publish real news from reliable sources.
Google Fact Check. A plug-in that lets you check a news source before you share it. With a color-coded ranking system and professional source critics working around the clock, we aspire to make internet a safer place. For each fact checked article you will be able to find the sources used to check it's validity. You can get involved too by reporting links which have yet to be fact checked.
In the future our hopes is to have been able to have developed and trained an AI to search for the facts by itself.
Note: All numbers in this project are speculative
On a google search each link has a symbol for it being verified or not.
Green for verified, red for fake, yellow for subjective and/or satire & blue for not yet fact-checked
You can click on each Google Fact Check symbol to get more information.
On each site  you visit  you get a pop-up bubble from the plug-in telling you how secure it is.
This example shows a page where 70% of overall articles checked was proved to reliable and 30% was not.
This example is what it could look like if a page is highly unreliable.
This is how the notification bubble would look on articles and pages that are subjective or satire.
On Facebook the plug in reminds you to verify your source before sharing it with others.
On our own website you can get an overview of each news channel
We also created a tool box of the graphical elements
As for the the logo, it shows a classic link symbol with the colours from our colour coding
