In this project I decided to challenge myself by re-interpreting an already existing object. I found an early 1900s bible and decided to reinterpret The Ten Commandments in a way that made sense to me as a non-believing person. The end product became a small graffiti photo project called Dekalog.
I took clingfilm and put up in places in the city to be able to create "holy graffiti" in an attempt to do something that didn't break the law and by that something that would stay as righteous as possible.
The word Dekalog means The Ten Commandments.
You shall have no other Gods but me - Believe in what or who you want
You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God - Don't speak badly of people beliefs or non-beliefs
Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy - Remember to rest
Honor your father and your mother - Choose your family and treat them with love

You shall not murder - Hurt no one

You shall not commit adultery - Talk to your people
You shall not steal - Steal only if you really need to
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbour - Don't lie about what other people do or have done
You shall not covet your neighbour’s house - Ask before you take something that does not belong to you
You shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour - Think before you do
